Reforestation Initiative Combats Illegal Deforestation in Eastern Europe
4 October, 2024

Environmental restoration project completed on 4 October 2024 across Eastern European countries. A team of 4 persons successfully planted approximately 7000 trees in areas severely affected by unauthorized logging activities.
Targeted regions selected based on ecological vulnerability assessments, prioritizing locations where forest recovery would have the most significant environmental impact. Sites carefully prepared to ensure optimal growing conditions for native tree species to restore local ecosystems.
Planting sites strategically chosen to create wildlife corridors, reconnecting fragmented forest areas and allowing animal populations to move freely between previously isolated forest patches.
Parallel advocacy work projected for stronger enforcement of forestry laws across Eastern Europe, addressing root causes of illegal deforestation.
Plans in development to expand reforestation work to additional sites facing the greatest threat from illegal logging activities.
